Privacy Policy

AI Usage Monitor shows how much of your AI coding limits is left, when they reset and which sessions are working. It’s built so your data stays with you: on your Mac and in your own iCloud.

Last updated October 11, 2026 iPhone · iPad · Mac

No data collection

We don’t collect, sell or share personal data. No analytics, ads or tracking.

Counted on your Mac

Usage logs are read and counted locally. They never reach our servers; we don’t have any.

Your iCloud only

A summary syncs through your private iCloud. Only your Apple Account can read it.

Sign-ins stay put

Optional live limits use the sign-ins already on your Mac. They’re never copied or uploaded.

01

What the Mac app reads

To work out your usage, AI Usage Monitor for Mac reads files that Claude Code and Codex already keep on your Mac. Everything below is processed on your Mac.

WhatWhere it comes fromWhy
Usage logs: token counts, model names, project folder names, session titles and timestamps ~/.claude and ~/.codex Token metrics and the list of open sessions
Claude Code sign-in
Only with live limits on
Your macOS keychain Asking Anthropic (api.anthropic.com) for your own usage limits
Codex sign-in
Only with live limits on
~/.codex/auth.json Asking OpenAI (chatgpt.com) for your own usage limits

Sign-ins are used the same way Claude Code and Codex use them. They’re never copied, changed, stored elsewhere or sent anywhere else. You can turn live limits off at any time in the Mac app’s Settings.

02

What syncs between your devices

So your iPhone and iPad can show the same numbers, the Mac app saves a summary to your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). The summary contains:

  • Limits and reset times
  • Open session titles
  • Project folder names
  • Token counts

Only your Apple Account can read this data; we have no access to it. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.

03

What we never do

  • Collect or sell personal data
  • Show ads
  • Track you across apps or websites
  • Include analytics or third-party SDKs
  • Store your data on our servers
  • Share data with anyone
04

Keeping and deleting your data

  • Everything elseDeleting the apps removes everything else they stored on your devices.
05

AI Usage Monitor isn’t directed at children and doesn’t knowingly process children’s data.
